Always include several different contact methods in your communications with your prospects so they can choose a communication style that suits them rather than be left only to the one that you decide.
Social networks and forums can be great ways to get yourself known and to build relationships with people that enable you both to establish if you would like to work together before you discuss business (caveat: using a sledge hammer approach to pitching your business ends up doing little more than sending you straight to someone's 'people you most want to avoid' list..)
You need to develop liking for yourself, (your brand), before you can attract the kind of people in who are going to work effectively with you, the more you give willingly and at the start, the less people demand your time, reassurance and presence in order to find their own level of replication and duplication.

Let yourself shine through so that people are able to approach you on a personal level. Become someone that others want to be friends with because you have so much to offer, share willingly and gladly the skills that you have and never stop developing yourself.
